You'll find our small, but perfectly formed, family-run spa hotel in the middle of Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve. Idyllically situated on the outskirts of Gomadingen (Offenhausen), it is the ideal starting point for your next holiday in nature, complete with an unobstructed view of the countryside and a crystal-clear starry sky.

Various Cycling and walking trails run right past the hotel. Offenhausen lies at the start of the Lauter Valley with its castles, which is very popular with hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists. Numerous excursion destinations await you in the region, and it is not far to the nearest shopping trip to Metzingen (Outletcity), Tübingen, Reutlingen, Ulm or Stuttgart. For sweet idleness, we recommend our heated outdoor pool, perhaps together with a good book or after a relaxing sauna session.

And last but not least, a perfect break naturally always includes a good meal – and you can get that in our restaurant with its adjoining wine cellar: We cook Swabian classics and modern cuisine, with locally sourced ingredients and game from our own hunts. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the view of the picturesque Lauter valley from our terrace.

A place to unwind. In the middle of the Swabian Alb, far away from the hustle and bustle. At the Winter restaurant and country hotel, you’ll find good food, a pool and sauna, genuine comfort and time for yourselves, along with days when nothing else matters.

The Winter restaurant and country hotel impresses with a very well-maintained atmosphere and neat, clean rooms. A particular highlight is the spacious wellness area: the sauna landscape with an infrared lounger and an inviting outdoor pool offers fantastic opportunities for relaxation. Guests will also get their money's worth when it comes to food: the dishes are visually appealing and utterly convincing in terms of both taste and portion size. An all-round harmonious experience!

Five days away from the daily grind could not have been better! The hotel is quietly located and of a manageable size, as well as family-run and very warm. The entire team is always approachable, courteous and friendly. The kitchen conjures up top-class dishes every day. Here, anyone who wants to can simply unwind and let their hair down...

We stayed for one night. Very warm welcome. Spacious and clean rooms overlooking the greenery. The food was very delicious, and the service was very friendly despite the house being full. The dining room is new and tastefully designed. An absolute highlight for me was the heated outdoor swimming pool. Being able to swim in the morning is great. Small sauna area with a relaxation room. The breakfast was also very generous. Everything your heart could desire. Dietary requirements were accommodated immediately. We felt very at home.

Quiet and modern rooms at affordable prices on the Swabian Jura, what more could you want. The friendly owner family welcomed us very hospitably. Great food in the restaurant, highly recommended! In summer 2025, a nice outdoor pool was added.

My absolute top recommendation for this country hotel and particularly the restaurant. Visited for the first time yesterday, a new discovery, and we were thrilled. Here you can literally feel that it is not just a job that the owners and the team are doing, it is passion and total dedication! Enchantingly located, as idyllic as a picture book and the cuisine is outstanding. Furthermore, it should be emphasised that the restaurant area is beautifully and very stylishly designed. Hello dear Winter family, I would like to reflect on my impressions of my visit to you yesterday and thank you for the great evening. I was a guest at your establishment yesterday as part of a group. And that is exactly how I felt. Right from the start, it was a pleasant and obliging atmosphere. The friendliness of the entire team was overwhelming. The food is of very good quality, sufficient in quantity and very attractively presented. Here, one is also happy to pay a higher price. I will gladly recommend you and will be happy to visit you again in the future.

The Swabian Alb

Our country hotel is located on the Middle Swabian Alb. Characteristic of this wonderful landscape are the rolling hills, picturesque valleys, juniper heaths, traditional orchards and extensive mixed and beech forests. One of the most beautiful valleys in the Alb is the Lautertal with its castles and ruins. A large part of the Middle Alb belongs to the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve. Walkers will find numerous hiking trails here, e.g. the High mountains. The Alb is particularly recommended for mountain bikers. Kayakers and canoeists love the Große Lauter. When there is sufficient snow cover in winter, numerous cross-country ski trails are groomed. Ski lifts at the Traifelberg or in Holzelfingen are very close by. In our Hotel on the Swabian Alb you find relaxation and peace.
