Frequently asked questions about our restaurant, hotel / wellness hotel.
Where is the hotel located?
The 3-star Hotel-Restaurant & Landhotel Winter is situated in the climatic health resort of Gomadingen, in the district of Offenhausen, right in the middle of the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve, in a quiet location on the edge of the village.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Your hotel room is available to you from 16:00 on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, your room is available until 11:00. Early check-in and late check-out are possible subject to availability – please feel free to contact us in advance for this.
Is there on-site parking?
There is a large number of free parking spaces on site. There is no garage or underground car park. An EV charging station is currently being planned.
Are the hotel and the restaurant accessible?
Because the house was built into the hillside back then, it is only partially accessible. Inside, a number of stairs have to be negotiated, though some of the rooms can be reached by lift. In principle, all areas of the hotel – apart from the pool and sauna – are accessible, sometimes with minor detours. A wheelchair-accessible, accessible toilet is available in the restaurant, and access to the lower restaurant at terrace level is also accessible. If you require accessible rooms or special assistance, please contact us in advance.
Where can I keep my bicycle?
Right by the hotel there is a secure bike shed, which you can access with your room key. There are also power sockets available there for charging e-bikes. For insurance reasons, we kindly ask you not to charge the batteries in your hotel room.
What activities can one do?
Due to the location of the Restaurant & Landhotel Winter, a wide range of activities is available. Numerous cycling and hiking trails start directly from the hotel. In the lobby, you will also find various brochures and hiking guides with tips for tours and excursions in the surrounding area. With the AlbCard, our guests have the opportunity to discover over 180 sights and excursion destinations on the Swabian Alb free of charge. Our hotel is also ideally situated for a trip to Metzingen, Europe's largest outlet city, or to cities such as Stuttgart, Tübingen, Reutlingen or Ulm.
What are the breakfast times?
Daily until 10:00. At the weekend from 08:00 to 10:00. Earlier breakfast times are possible during the week – please state at check-in when you would like to have breakfast.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are exclusively welcome in some of our „Sternberg“ rooms – please let us know when booking if you are bringing your four-legged friend. Dogs are not allowed in the breakfast area. For dinner: we have two restaurants, one is dog-free and dogs are permitted in the other – so all guests are well catered for. We charge € 15 per day/night for your four-legged friend (excluding food).
Are the pool and sauna included for hotel guests?
The pool and sauna are complimentary for hotel guests and included in the room booking.
Does the Restaurant & Landhotel Winter offer half-board for hotel guests?
Yes, we offer half-board for our hotel guests – a 3-course evening meal which can be extended to a 4-course meal upon request. You can easily add the half-board directly in our booking engine.
Are towels and a bathrobe provided there?
We provide you with a bath towel and a sauna towel, which you can find in the spa bag in your hotel room. We are also happy to provide a bathrobe and bath slippers for a nominal fee of €6 per person.
What are the spa opening hours?
Our year-round heated outdoor pool and sauna are open daily from 08:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00. Please let us know if you would like to use the sauna, and we will heat it up for you in no time.
What are the restaurant's opening hours?
- Monday to Friday, 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm
- Closed on Thursdays
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 11.30 am to 10.00 pm
- Hot meals served throughout until 8.00 pm
Is the restaurant also open to non-residents?
Our restaurant is open to everyone. In the restaurant, we offer à la carte dishes as well as set menus.
Are vegetarian or vegan dishes available?
You will always find vegetarian dishes on our menu too. If you follow a vegan diet, just let us know in advance – we are flexible and will gladly take care of it.
Do you offer dishes for guests with food intolerances or special dietary requirements?
If you have any special dietary requirements or intolerances, just let us know in advance – that way, our kitchen and breakfast team can prepare for them perfectly.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept cash, VISA, Maestro and Mastercard.
Which airport is nearby?
Stuttgart Airport is about a 1-hour drive from the Restaurant & Landhotel Winter.
Which station is nearby?
Offenhausen station is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The SAB – Schwäbische Alb-Bahn runs along this route and is part of the Naldo transport association.
