Goose dinner in our restaurant
From 8 November, it's that time of the year again: goose season begins at the Restaurant & Landhotel Winter! For many of our guests, our traditional goose dinners on the Swabian Alb are an essential part of autumn – and we too look forward every year to when the aroma of roast goose drifts through the restaurant.
The goose dinner has a long history. Even in the past, the Martinmas goose was served around St Martin's Day (11th November) – a symbol of gratitude and the beginning of the winter season. Today, this has become a tradition best enjoyed cosily with family or friends. And that is precisely what we offer here in Offenhausen: a relaxed goose dinner in a lovely atmosphere right in the middle of the Swabian Jura.
Our geese come straight from the oven – golden brown and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. We serve them with all the traditional accompaniments: spiced red cabbage, quince purée, a rich goose jus and creamy potato gratin. A combination that goes together perfectly – classic, honest and without fuss.
Anyone who has been to our place before knows: we like things down-to-earth, but with a love for detail. Goose dinners at the Restaurant & Landhotel Winter aren't about fancy words, but about good food and a cosy time. Whether as a couple, with friends or as a group, our goose dinner is the perfect occasion to go out for a really good meal once again.
Many guests combine a visit to us with a short break on the Alb. And it's well worth it: after eating, you can relax in our sauna or enjoy the fresh Alb air in the heated outdoor pool. That way, the goose dinner turns straight into a whole day of well-being.
